AddLife strengthens the position within digital care through Camanio acquisition
AddLife is expanding its footprint in digital health with the acquisition today of Camanio AB (“Camanio”) for inclusion in its Medtech business area. Camanio is a Swedish digital care technology provider specialising in individual-centred smart solutions for home care. The company reported net sales of approximately SEK 13 million in 2020 and has 18 employees.
Camanio develops and operates an innovative digital care platform and associated services that connect elderly people, their relatives and care professionals to facilitate the provision of digital and physical care based on individual need. Camanio has in 2018 won the Swecare Rising Star Award for its innovations and is certified according to Swedish quality and environmental standards. Camanio was as one out of three suppliers that in 2020 was awarded with frame contracts for care alarms with Adda, the Central Purchasing Body for Swedish Regions and Municipalities. Camanio has during 2021 signed contracts valued approximately SEK 40 million with several Swedish municipalities for coming installations.
Through the acquisition, the AddLife group establishes a digital health and care platform to support primary health and social care providers in the delivery of digital home care services to patients and users. AddLife sees significant business opportunities as the market transitions from physical services to digital solutions.
Camanio’s open and scalable platform is designed to support a full range of home care services, including care alarms, fall sensors, video monitors and personalised monitoring devices.
Camanio will form the initial core of AddLife’s proprietary digital health platform that will be developed in collaboration with the group’s two existing digital health companies, Zafe Care Systems in Sweden and Hepro in Norway.
Kristina Willgård, CEO of AddLife says: “The ongoing change with an increasing and aging population with chronic diseases that require more care is a challenge for the society. The possibility of digital care and better data support improves the quality of care and significantly streamlines the elderly care. Digitization of elderly care is necessary to manage the future. At AddLife, we are pleased to be part of leading the future way in the development of this area."
Catharina Borgenstierna, CEO of Camanio says: “We are very happy and proud to become part of the AddLife group and see various synergies within the group. This is huge a positive boost for our possibilities to further develop and strengthen the care platform and bring many new opportunities to our customers, partners and, not least, to seniors to live a better life at home.”
The transaction closes today and is expected to have only a marginal effect on AddLife’s earnings per share in the 2021 financial year.
